Please will readers from outside this wonderful city excuse that it is a very Brussels focused post - maybe it will give you good reasons to pay us a visit!
The Car-Free Sunday in Brussels has to be one of my favourite days of the year.
This year I sat and drank my green smoothie for breakfast with the door open in my Anderlecht house and could hear the church bells ringing over in St Gilles… amazing what sounds come through when the constant drone of cars have gone.
We usually get out early and go for a long bike ride with the kids before the afternoon craziness sets in. This year was no exception and we decided to head towards Tour & Taxis as I wanted to see where the new Bio Market (Tanneurs) is situated.
What a great surprise! Not only do we have a brand new address for the Bio Marche - now at:
L'Atelier du Be.Here, rue dieudonné Lefevre, 4
1000 BRUXELLES
Bus : 88 -89 or métro : N° 6 ->Pannenhuis
… we also have a place which is a hub for local sustainable food businesses:
Skyfarms shop for herbs for your balcony
Mad-Lab - local sweet and savoury biscuits
Fermenthings - a company dedicated to fermented foods - also offering workshops
La Source - coming soon the brewery and bar - opening 12th October
Great space dedicated to small foodie businesses - so good to see and definitely be back!
Don’t hesitate to share any great finds you have in our city!
