When the temperatures are soaring to over 30 degrees for the next week, we need some plans for keeping cool...
Getting out of the city is always a nice option for those who can, but not all are so lucky.
Staying well hydrated is of course essential - making sure you get plenty (i.e. more than usual recommended amount of 40ml/kilo of body weight)
Choose cool foods - cool as a cucumber is not just a daft saying, add in melon and mint for a delicious smoothie. Dark green leaves also cool us down as do berries, bananas and honey.
Sounds like a good selection for a homemade ice-cream too. But some bananas and blueberries in a blender with almond milk and then fill up some ice-lolly moulds and get them in the freezer...
No ice-lolly moulds? Just freeze peeled bananas and blueberries then put them in the blender with bit of almond or other plant milk and you have ice-cream... you can even add some chopped nuts or honey...
Also time to lower the expectations... not doing too much, slowing down the pace - people who live in warmer climates usually know how to do this better than northerners like me... siesta time maybe?
Enjoy
